Textile Institute World President Elect Announced………..

Manchester, UK – February 2015 The Textile Institute Council has invited Mr Muharrem Kayhan,member of the Institute and Chairman of the Board of Söktaş to be World President Elect. On 14 May 2015 at The Textile Institute Annual General Meeting its members will be requested to vote Mr Muharrem Kayhan in as the next World President for the period of 2015-2017.


NOTICE is hereby given that the one hundredth and fifth Annual General Meeting of The Textile Institute will be held on

Thursday 14 May 2015 at 11.00 hrs
Friends' Meeting House, 6 Mount Street, Manchester, M2 5NS.

Directions to Venue:

All members are, invited to attend, but only voting members are entitled to vote. A full agenda and notice for the meeting will be emailed to members in due course.

Council Nominations 2015 Now Open!

Nominations are invited to fill the vacancies that will occur in 2015 for membership of The Textile Institute's Council.

Medals and Awards 2014 is Open!

The Medals and Awards Committee under the authority of The Textile Institute Council is seeking nominations from industry, academia and members for Medals and Awards 2014.

Awards include The Textile Institute New Materials Award, Innovation Award, Sustainability Award, Institute Medal For Design, The Young Persons Award and many more.

The Institute has reintroduced a number of awards which are back by popular demand.

Introduction to Textiles - Training Short Course

23 - 25 February 2015, Manchester, UK

This intensive three day training short course is organised for the benefit of all those who are engaged in the manufacture, research and development as well as the commercial aspects of textile business. The course will cover Fibres, Yarns, Weaving, Warp and Weft Knitting, Nonwoven Fabrics, Dyeing and Finishing and Fabric Testing and Analysis.
